Short Stories

 

These songs move in a new direction for me, away from acoustic fingerstyle into electric guitar, sometimes heavier and sometimes jazzier.  The album opens with my homage to Raymond Chandler and tells a series of short stories with American themes and styles, occasionally dark but never without humour. 

 

The musical styles encompass Rock, Boogie, Latin and Jazz all based around the guitar but often duelling with strong keyboards. The mood varies from finding and losing love, cautionary tales of excess and delusion but never straying  too far from the central themes of love and companionship.
